Texas moved up one slot on a national ranking of the nation’s most obese states.

The state came in at No. 13 last year.
The report was ranked by average adult obesity rates between 2008 and 2010. About 30.1 percent of the state’s adults are considered overweight.
The report said 12 states reported obesity rates of more than 30 percent. This is up from just one state four years ago. Another nine states and Washington, D.C., had childhood obesity rates greater than 20 percent, including Texas.
Texas was one of two states where adults were doing less physical activity than last year.
